About Jayme Matlock

I would like to introduce myself. I am the new principal at Henryetta Elementary. For the past four years, as the assistant principal, I had the privilege of working alongside and learning from Mrs. Kelly Furer (now HS principal).  The 2018-2019 school year has brought about many changes. We have many new people that are coming on board at HES for the 2018-2019 school year and many that have moved to a different job assignment. I am excited about the upcoming school year and looking forward to leading our HES staff and students to new heights.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns: or 918-652-6587.  Refrain from using social media as your main source of communication regarding HPS. Please contact the teacher, Mr. Williams-Dean of Students, or myself if you have complaints or concerns. Our main goal is to meet the needs of our students so we encourage everyone to be a good positive example to our students. Being negative about HPS on social media does not benefit our students.  Following the proper channels (regarding complaints or concerns) WILL benefit our students. Thank you in advance for being a positive role model for the students at Henryetta.

My Background:

I attended Henryetta Public Schools from pre-k through 12th grade. Following graduation I received an Associates degree from TCC, a Bachelors degree from Langston University and Master’s degree in Education Administration from SWOSU.

Henryetta Public School has been a part of me for most of my life.  Prior to teaching at Henryetta I worked at the school in various aspects...lawn maintenance, summer painting crew, cafeteria and classroom substitute, custodian, and secretary. In 1999 I began my teaching career at HPS: 5th grade math for ten years, 6th-7th grade science for four years and assistant principal for four years.
